Our Story
The business is led by husband-and-wife team Jay and Amy Jenkins, who have worked side by side for years to build a company grounded in integrity and exceptional service. Long before Amy officially joined the business full time, she was the behind-the-scenes support system helping Jay with scheduling, paperwork, communication, and anything else the business needed. In May 2025, she stepped into her full-time role, transforming years of informal support into formal leadership.
Meet Jay — Co‑Owner & CEO
Jay is the hands-on expert and the man with the wrench. As CEO, he brings years of experience, technical skill, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time. Whether he’s repairing a well pump, installing a water heater, or troubleshooting a complex plumbing issue, Jay approaches every job with precision and pride. His reputation is built on craftsmanship, honesty, and treating every home as if it were his own.
Meet Amy — Co‑Owner & Chief Administrative Officer
Amy is the organizational backbone of Jenkins Plumbing & Mechanical. Although she officially joined full time in 2025, she has supported the business from the very beginning.
Her professional background includes:
Banking, where she developed strong financial and administrative skills
Real estate law, where she gained experience in contracts and compliance
Education, serving as an instructional paraprofessional in the Cape Henlopen School District while their son Brett was in school
Amy holds a degree in Behavioral Science, a field that influences how she communicates, supports customers, and manages operations. She also carries certifications in:
Paralegal Studies
Google Certification
QuickBooks Online Certification
As Chief Administrative Officer, Amy oversees marketing, finance, scheduling, customer communication, and the day-to-day operations that keep the business running smoothly. Her goal is simple: to ensure every customer feels informed, supported, and valued.
Meet Brett — The Next Generation
Jay and Amy’s son, Brett, lives in Pennsylvania and works for a State Farm agent. While he isn’t directly involved in the plumbing business, he remains one of the biggest supporters of Jenkins Plumbing & Mechanical. His work ethic, professionalism, and dedication reflect the values he grew up with — values that continue to shape the family business today.
A Family That Serves With Pride
At Jenkins Plumbing & Mechanical, you’re not just hiring a service — you’re choosing a family that cares deeply about the work they do and the people they serve. From the first phone call to the final walkthrough, our goal is to provide honest, dependable service backed by the values that define who we are.
